Lotemax (loteprednol) Eye Gel Drops

This medication is in a class of medications called corticosteroids.  It is an anti-inflammatory used for the treatment of swelling and pain after cataract surgery.

How to Use

  • Wash your hands.

  • Do not wear contact lenses during the course of therapy.

  • Do not allow the dropper tip to touch any surface as this may contaminate the gel.

  • Squeeze the tube and apply a ribbon of gel along that pocket.

  • Close the eye for about 30 seconds. 

  • The cap should remain on the bottle when not in use.

  • If you are using another medication in the eye, wait at least 15 minutes before applying.

Side Effects

Temporary blurred vision (do not drive or use machines until your vision is clear), increased pressure within the eye, swelling or discharge from the eyes, painful, dry or sticky eyes, tearing, sensation of having an object in your eye, itching in the eye or on the eyelid, redness in the eye or on the eyelid, photophobia (discomfort on exposure to light)

Storage

  • Store at room temperature 

  • Keep out of reach and sight of children

  • Do not use it after the expiry date (the expiry date refers to the last day of that month)
